Utilizing the interactive features of Google Maps, the US High Speed Rail Travel Times map allows users to explore the entire proposed national system for high speed rail. By clicking on a city or a route line, the user is given a pop-up bubble of information clearly stating the proposed travel time in hours and minutes between two major cities. These travel times become practical, attainable goals that can shape public opinion in favor of high speed rail, the backbone of a sustainable intermodal transportation system for America.
